It’s OK to break the 4th wall. With that being said – Hi, I’m Lamya and I’m a left-handed bookworm. I grew up in Chicago where I studied performance art at Free Street and Steppenwolf Theaters. I moved to New Orléans for college, and while earning my degree in speech communication and theater, I also studied photography. After college, I moved back to Chicago where I worked as a casting assistant on several major motion pictures, and a freelance lifestyle and fashion photographer. That experience led me to Los Angeles where I became a wardrobe stylist and social media marketer for entertainment industry professionals. After a few years, I moved back to New Orléans and worked as an actress in several independent films and national commercials. I was also a sketch writer for a local TV show.
There’s no better way to live life than outside the box, and in spite of traveling for work for the past three and a half years as a board certified cardiovascular sonographer and phlebotomist, Atlanta is where I call home. I shoot photographs digitally with a few drops of good ‘ole 35mm film – fashion, portraiture, travel, and nature.
When I’m not working, I’m giving back to the community, studying, auditioning for TV/film, getting lost in a cool playlist, and managing a personal blog covering topics on health and wellness, art, lifestyle, and travel. I thrive on exploring the cruel, beautiful world, eating crazy-good food, sailing the warm waters, working with other liked-minded creatives, and building original, quality content in several artistic mediums.
