Born and raised in the windy city, I spent several years studying acting at Steppenwolf Theatre, and producing at Free Street Theater. After moving to New Orleans to study visual and performance art, I earned my B.A. degree in Speech Communication and Theatre Arts from Dillard University. After graduating I made my professional theater debut in Pink Collar Crime at Jefferson Performing Arts Center. Once the show wrapped I moved back to Chicago to work as a photographer and casting assistant on several feature films including The Dark Knight and The Express: The Ernie Davis Story, which then led me straight to La La Land after the films wrapped. In Los Angeles, I worked as a full-time wardrobe stylist for a luxury Italian label and conducted several interviews for social media and marketing on various productions including MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew.
After a few years in L.A., I found myself back in my beloved New Orleans where I signed with Fame Agency and booked numerous national, regional, and local commercials. I also worked as a sketch writer for the public access television show Yeah, You Rite! Pursuing my second degree in Cardiovascular Sonography is how I ended up living in Atlanta. After graduation, I spent over three years traveling the country as a board-certified cardiovascular sonographer. During that time I also managed to perform in You Can’t Think Like a Man at Southwest Arts Center, study voiceover at Alliiance Theatre, and become a certified sailor.
At any given moment you will find me lying in the grass reading a book, playing and laughing hysterically with my husband, 3-year-old daughter, and infant son, serving the community, or sailing my twelve-foot dinghy named Teacup!
